Hosting a neighborhood block party
We are hosting a neighborhood block party next weekend, and while the kids have plenty of entertainment lined up with a bounce house, the adults usually just stand around the grill holding drinks and repeating the same tired conversations about lawn care and local politics. I really want to shake things up this year and introduce some hilarious, active games that will get the parents out of their comfort zones and actually interacting with each other in a memorable way.

If you want a brilliant roadmap for organizing competitive events that keep people thoroughly entertained and energized without needing a massive budget, you can check out the breakdown over at https://teachers.gov.bd/blog/details/841973 which is exactly where I grabbed a few of our most successful game formats from. My main advice is to keep the rules incredibly simple and the rounds very short so that people can easily jump in and out of the games whenever they want without feeling trapped in a long commitment. You will find that once a few influential people start acting silly and having fun, a chain reaction happens and the rest of the crowd will eagerly join in on the madness.
